2024 VIRGINIA WINE INVITATIONAL RESULTS ANNOUNCED
December 20, 2024 — Winners have been announced in the 2024 Virginia Wine Invitational. After several days of spirited judging, Blue Valley Vineyard and Winery took the top prize as Virginia’s 2024 Winery of the Year.
"Blue Valley Vineyards and Winery was founded by John and Helen Zissios in 1996, with the tasting room and winery spearheaded by their son Stergio and established in 2012. Three generations of winemaking and wine growing experience goes into the careful crafting of our wines and the growing of our grapes. Our wines are a testament to how meticulous attention to detail leads to incredible quality. All of the award-winning wines are produced on site and are artfully created by our winegrower Shai Van Gelder. Of the wines that were submitted to the Virginia Wine Invitational, over half of them are designated as Estate wines, grown and produced in Delaplane, Virginia. With the spectacular Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah Valley nearby, we recommend that you come for the wine, and stay for the views. Cheers!"

Special recognition goes to Toll Gate Farm and Vineyard on being named Virginia Label Design of the Year for their 2023 Viognier.
